Building Churches in Asia
Just like any North American church, Asian congregations need buildings in which to worship, pray, laugh, love, minister, and play. Gospel for Asia has put together some wonderful short histories of some of their church plants that I think should be gentle reminders of gratitude that we are able to build such grand palaces of worship even as the poorest of people worship in rented huts.
The following links will take you to short powerpoint presentations that will give you their stories.
- A Multipurpose Church Building: Prasan Prinak’s Story
- The Most Expensive Church in Sri Lanka: Sturdy Construction and Simple Form
- A New Church - For the Second Time: Hadi Rahman’s Story
- Orissa In Ruins: Loss from Violence
- A Climb to Build a Church: Suraj Magar’s Story
- A Home for His Flock: Chhiring Magang’s Story
- A Church to Call Home & Building on Ministry: Rishi Manaat’s Story Part 1 and Part 2
There are more tales of church building at construction in Asia that are both uplifting and humbling at the Gospel for Asia website.
You can donate to Gospel for Asia to helpdirectly in the construction of more church buildings and the creation of stories like these.
